Danes's first role was on an episode of Law & Order, though her big break came from being cast in My So-Called Life. The show only lasted 19 episodes but Danes received a Golden Globe and an Emmy nomination for her performance. Since then, Danes worked steadily in film and television, including Little Women, Romeo + Juliet, Les Miserables, and Stardust. In 2010, another career-turning role came from HBO's Temple Grandin, for which she won an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Shortly thereafter, Danes began work on Homeland, which earned her two more Golden Globes and Emmys. In 2009, she married actor Hugh Dancy, with whom she has one son, Cyrus.
